Maritime history

Discover the rich maritime history along Gippsland's coast. Port Albert is one of Victoria's oldest ports and visitors can wander through the town and enjoy the charm of lovingly restored buildings dating back to the 1800s – among them the Bond Store and warehouse, the Old Bakery, Gowrie House and the Port Albert Hotel licensed since 1844. Further along the coast there are a number of lighthouses worth visiting including the Wilsons Promontory Lighthouse, Point Hicks Lighthouse and the Gabo Island Lighthouse.
