National parks & reserves

Be spellbound by the stunning beauty and diversity of the Grampians region's national and state parks, forests and reserves, renowned for their rugged mountain ranges, abundant wildlife and spectacular wildflower displays.

Breathtaking views
Choose your favourite of the 970 native plant species, 200 species of birds and an abundance of native animals that make their home in the Grampians National Park, the fourth largest national park in Victoria (168,000 hectares)

The national park is made up of four precipitous and spectacular ranges formed millions of years ago when the sandy sediments lifted and tilted to form the distinctive landscape seen today. See steep cliffs on one side and relatively gentle slopes on the other.

Dramatic rock formations
Inhale the spectacular wildflowers and look out for the elusive Mallee Fowl at the 1,320 square kilometre Little Desert National Park, or get set for some of the best rock climbing in the world on the dramatic rock formations of Mt Arapiles-Tooan State Park.
