Overview
Lavandula is beautiful to visit in all seasons: relax in the fresh country air.
In spring daffodils and birds' nests, in summer roses lavender and food crops, in autumn blue skies and leaf colour, winter bare trees and the garden's structure is visible. By visiting the 1860s golden stone farmhouse you can explore 1860s Italian rural architecture.
In autumn when golden poplar leaves drift down and deep red grape leaves climb the walls at Lavandula, they stop harvest work for their Autumn Harvest Festival. They share with you the tasks of bringing in the crops to preserve for winter use.
Join the olive harvest and learn how to: grow olive trees, use the right olive oil and pickle olives. They'll show you how to bottle fruit, make jam, roast chestnuts. You can graze on local food and wines, listen to local music. Colourful wintry textiles and hats - talk with the district's talented growers and makers. Illustrated talks on travel in Ticino (southern Switzerland, where the family who founded the farm arrived from).
Lavandula Swiss Italian Farm is a beautiful and relaxing day visit from Melbourne or rural Victoria. Relax in the garden, have lunch outdoors, play petanque or loll on a rug under the trees.

Bottling and Pickling in Autumn
At Lavandula's festivals they have available wine, food and music in a beautiful garden setting. But they also like to show you how summer's food crops are harvested and brought in for processing for use throughout the year.
See Trudi bottling fruit and June making jam. You can join the olive harvest and learn how to pickle them. You can eat freshly roasted chestnuts or take some home to cook. You can see the beauty of northern Italy/Ticino at illustrated talks by Fay and Boyd Thompson on Travel in Ticino.
